Design from the place, not from a photograph
South Florida sits on oolitic limestone. Our soils are thin, alkaline, fast draining in some spots and waterlogged in others, often within the same yard. We get roughly sixty inches of rain a year, most of it in six months, along with salt air, hurricane wind loads and intense UV.
Weave what is already there
Mature trees, existing grades, natural drainage paths and established canopy are assets, not obstacles. We survey what exists before we decide what to add, because the fastest way to make a new landscape feel established is to keep the parts that already are.

Water is the single most structuring force in a South Florida landscape. Where it collects, where it runs, where it sits after a storm, and where it needs to go.
Handled early, water becomes the most beautiful element on the property. Handled late, it becomes the reason the pavers heave, the roots rot and the grass dies in the same corner every August.
